The Digimon Card Game is the quieter of Bandai’s lines, and that’s the point of carrying it. A devoted core of players, three or four booster sets a year, and print runs thin enough that when a set lands right, sealed moves before most shops have finished restocking. It rewards paying attention.
We carry it because the people who play Digimon really play it — and because a shop that only stocks the two biggest games isn’t a card shop, it’s a kiosk.
What the Digimon Card Game is
The mechanic that makes Digimon feel like Digimon is evolution stacking. You play a rookie, then evolve it by placing a higher-level Digimon on top — the stack keeps the inherited effects of everything underneath. Your Tamers stand beside them. Attacks go at the opponent’s security stack, five cards face down that can trigger when hit; clear all five and land one more attack to win.
The resource is a shared memory gauge that swings between players: spend too much on your turn and you hand your opponent a big one. It’s an elegant tempo engine, and it’s the reason Digimon games rarely feel one-sided until the end.
How the community plays it
Organized play runs through Bandai TCG+. The in-store layer is Evolution Cups and quarterly Store Tournaments, each with promo pack prizing. Above that sit Regionals — two seasons a year — and Ultimate Cups, feeding the World Championship 26-27.
The community is smaller than One Piece’s and knows it, which makes it tight. Locals are the same faces each week, deck lists get argued over online between events, and release events for a new booster are the busiest nights of the quarter. A shop that shows up for Digimon earns loyalty that’s hard to buy.
The state of play in 2026
Bandai’s Global Unification program has aligned English and Japanese releases and schedules. BT-26: Timeless Bonds released September 4. BT-27: Ignition of X follows December 11, and BT-28: Abyss of X is already dated for March 5, 2027.
Competitively, Regionals 26-27 Season 2 opened in August, and Store Tournament Vol. 3 ran through September with Vol. 4 running out the year. Evolution Cup Season 2 finished in July. The full calendar is on the events board.
What we stock, and what we buy
Worth knowing before you open one: new Digimon sets trade a little over MSRP and older ones a little under. Sealed here rewards timing, not holding — we’ll say which side of that line a set is on when you bring it in.
Sealed. Booster boxes from current and recent BT sets, and starter decks. Older sealed when it comes across the counter.
Singles. Alternate arts, secret rares and playable singles for the current meta.
What we buy: sealed and alternate arts first. Collections. Send a photo and we’ll tell you what you’ve got.
Where to play this season
